Another work in progress-Mower County in Winter

After finishing one drawing it is time to do another! I have many drawings to do before I can no longer do them. Whether they were worth doing is a consideration left to other people, preferably after I am gone.

This new picture is based on a photo taken last March near the Cedar River west of my parent's home . (The same Cedar River that flooded Cedar Rapids last spring, but much further north). It was semi-overcast and a bit hazy. I moved the house in the background to center it between the trees and cropped it to a horizontal format.

Here are the base drawing and the color study for this drawing. I will be using watercolor pencils for the background and the rest in colored pencil.
