Young Trees finished

After tracing my drawing onto the precolored paper it was time to use the colored pencils. I used purple, violet and blue-violet with just a touch of yellow ocher. Once I got going it didn't take very long. For many drawings most of the work is preparing the composition, color decisions, the graphite pencil drawing and the background washes.

Through experience I have found out that preplanning and preparation improved my finished results and saved time in the long run.
